The Steam Act has hindered economic growth and could potentially cause the destruction of Yellowstone National Park and other landmark natural wonders of the United States. It is past time we amend.

I researched and wrote this paper on America's pivoting environmental movement in the early 1900s that is centered on the Long Trail, a system of connected trails and paths that traverse the length of Vermont, after I hiked the northern section of the LT over the summer. I was enamored by its beauty and wanted to further explore its historical importance and creation. 

Journey's End is a personal essay I wrote after my two-week backpacking trip on the Long Trail from the Appalachian Gap to Jay Peak, the northern terminus of the Long Trail which barely crosses into Canada. My memoir recounts a vivid moment from the trek on the descent of Camel's Hump.

I wrote this literary essay after reading Dante's Inferno in my Gods of War English class. I was really interested in the journey's tension between the pilgrim's Christian beliefs and Virgil's pagan doctrine. Their dynamic relationship evolved and was mutually beneficial in allowing the pair to descend Hell's nine-rings.

Tradition v Modernism was a paper I wrote on the historiography of Professor Jay Winter's book Sites of Memory Sites of Mourning. My paper places Winter's arguments surrounding bereavement and mourning following WWI into the greater historical debate of WWI from other critics and scholars.
